Day 1 – Sunday December 10th – Salem, OR to Leavenworth, WA
Now that we’re all on-board, our morning will kick-off with a delicious lunch at Falls Terrace…. overlooking the Deschutes River and the world-famous Tumwater Falls Park. We’ll continue over the beautiful Snoqualmie Pass to Leavenworth where we’ll check into our home for the next 3 nights. Depending on road conditions and travel time, you may have time to catch the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Later, we’ll enjoy a comforting meal at the hotel. Best Western Icicle Inn (L, D)

Day 2 – Monday December 11th – Leavenworth – Local Touring
Be sure to bring your warm clothes along today, as we will not be going back to the hotel before the Sleigh ride! Indulge in a European Breakfast Buffet at the hotel… Fresh Belgium waffles, sliced cheeses and meats, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, and more! Enjoy at your leisure. This is included each morning. First stop is the Red-Tail Canyon Farm Sleigh Ride! Travel back to the bygone days when the horse was still the center of activity on the farm and down-home hospitality was enjoyed by everyone who stopped by. Sing along to the beat of the jingle bells; listen to the clomping hoofs of the horses as you dash through the snow on one of their custom hand-built sleighs. We’ll travel along farm trails, over fields and through the woods snuggled under the provided wool blankets. At the end of the ride warm yourself by the fire and sip on hot cocoa or pose for pictures with the Horses. (Sleigh may be substituted by a Wagon, depending on the weather.) Lunch at Tumwater Inn is always a treat, “where good food, and old fashioned hospitality are still a tradition.” Leavenworth’s oldest restaurant, the Tumwater Inn is known on both sides of the mountains for their homemade desserts, always made from scratch.
Next, we’ll depart for Chelan County. First stop: the Historic Museum & Pioneer Village in Cashmere WA… The Museum embraces a wonderful collection of Pioneer and Native American history. Some of the exhibits include hunting and fishing artifacts, a sweat lodge, native food and medicine items, an exhibit about the Hudson Bay Company, and a Meso-American collection. Basketry, beadwork, jewelry and other work showcase the artistry and craftsmanship of the local Wenatchi Indians. Next, we’ll visit Liberty Orchards’ Aplets & Cotlets factory… America’s favorite fruit-and-nut confection! Founded in 1920, by two enterprising Armenian immigrants who settled in the little town of Cashmere, and located in the heart of the Washington State orchard country, Liberty Orchards has expanded to the full line of fruit-and-nut candies and fine food gifts that you’ll find available today. On the way home the bus will drop you at the hotel, or downtown, for dinner on your own. Best Western Icicle Inn (B, L)

Day 3  – Tuesday December 12th – Leavenworth – Local Touring
After the delicious European Breakfast Buffet at the hotel, we’ll leave you on your own to explore in Leavenworth for the day. You’ll find many wonderful shops, museums, bakeries & restaurants to visit! You may want to enjoy the Spa service at the hotel or just relax! Note: We will run the bus back and forth to downtown at regular time intervals. It is a short walk, but it may be treacherous depending on the conditions. Please exercise caution! Tonight, enjoy a wine and cheese reception while Cascade High School’s award winning Carolers delight us with all our Christmas favorites! Later, we’re off for dinner at King Ludwig’s. With mouth-watering authentic Bavarian specialties prepared by King Ludwig’s international kitchen staff, you will imagine yourself in the heart of Bavaria. We’ll dine, sing, dance and just have a good time… or as it’s known in Germany “Gemütlichkeit”! Best Western Icicle Inn (B, D)

Day 4 – Wednesday December 13th – Leavenworth, WA to Salem, OR
After our final European Breakfast Buffet at the hotel, we’ll start for home and enjoy one more glimpse of this magical Bavarian style town as we head south. Lunch will be at the Old Country Buffet in Union Gap today, with delicious grill selections, hot vegetables, fresh salad and dessert bars… YUM!!! (B, L)
