First stop Thompson Mill State Heritage Site… the Mills is a unique survivor of times past, chronicling 150 years of Oregon rural life and honoring the owners who adapted the mill to the changing world around it. It is the last water-powered flower mill in the state and its turbines can be seen in action. Next its lunch at the Oregon Electric Station… it was originally built in 1914 as a station for the Oregon Electric Railway. Passenger service by the Railway was discontinued in 1933, some of the original train cars are now part of the restaurant. Enjoy the scenery as we make our way to our home for the next two nights… the Ashland Springs Hotel located in the heart of Ashland… Tonight, a special treat is in store… as The Oregon Cabaret Theatre presents Million Dollar Quartet. The Theater was voted one of the best cabaret theatres in the country! Million Dollar Quartet was inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time. On December 4, 1956, these four young musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever.
