Next, depart on the Black Ball Ferry… Breathe in the fresh air as we cross the beautiful Straits of Juan de Fuca. Entering Victoria’s inner harbour, you’ll admire beautiful hanging baskets on the lampposts, the gardens around the capital building, and the 19th century storefronts that line the downtown streets… no wonder Victoria is called “The Garden City”, and one of the world’s favorite places! Our home for the night is Chateau Victoria… relax in elegance in the heart of downtown. Your evening is free to explore beautiful Victoria, the provincial Capital of British Columbia. Day 2 – Local Touring
Breakfast is served at the Blue Poppy Restaurant, inside Butchart Gardens, one of the world’s premier floral show gardens, started in 1904 by Jennie Butchart. She transformed an abandoned limestone quarry into the dramatic Sunken Garden, a reflection of the early 20th-century beautification movement, and an exceptional achievement in Canadian gardening history. Enjoy a tasty breakfast as the sun shines through the large conservatory windows that face into the gardens. After breakfast, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the famous Gardens on your own. We’ll make our way back to Victoria this afternoon where you can take in High Tea at the Empress Hotel, take a horse drawn wagon tour or just soak up the beautiful city. Tonight we’ll enjoy a great dinner with bay views and NW cuisine. Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites, Victoria, BC (B, D)
