Day 1 – Wednesday November 28th – Home to Tacoma WA
We’ll head north to Tacoma once called the city of destiny. If you haven’t visited in a while you will be amazed how it has transformed itself. We have a delicious lunch at Swiss Pub… housed in an historic 1913 building in the midst of downtown museums. Your afternoon is free to explore the Museum District on your own. It’s one of the jewels of the South Sound! It is comprised of six premier museums all within walking distance (or a free ride on the Link light rail) of each other in historic downtown Tacoma. At the Washington State History Museum, you can explore and be entertained through interactive exhibits, theatrical storytelling, high-tech displays, and dramatic artifacts. Tacoma Art Museum is an anchor in the city’s downtown and a gathering place for connecting people through art. LeMay – America’s Car Museum, an entity of America’s Automotive Trust, is an international destination for auto enthusiasts to celebrate America’s love affair with the automobile. The Museum of Glass is a center that nurtures artists, celebrates the dramatic Studio Glass movement, and encourages creativity. Linking the history museum and glass museum is Dale Chihuly’s incredible Bridge of Glass. Our home for the next two nights is the Hotel Murano. Providing a unique experience through glass art, it is home to many world class glass-art collections. The hotel features a different artist on each floor. Hotel Murano (L, D)
